After Gumball 3000 was over we hooked up with Levi Maestro, and some friends (13th Witness, Jason Goldwatch and Sky) for lunch. He took us to this spot Escuella Taqueria off of Beverly in West Hollyhood. Decor was nice, chairs hanging off the ceiling, weed leaf emblazoned skateboard, and best of all, was the music which was a playlist of the late, great Biggie Smalls aka The Notorious BIG. We were starving so Levi suggested multiple orders as the servings are small. Basically taco truck sizes with restaurant prices, so they better be good!

Since we're at a Taqueria, we went to what they do best and ordered tacos for lunch. Started with the guacamole which came with fresh chips, great start, but it was just ok. Promptly ordered 3 tacos: Carne Asada, OG Hard Shell (braised beef) and the Fish (Branzino, one of my favorites) which came two per order. Levi was right, we were hungry and multiple orders were needed. Out of all I ate, the classic Carne Asada was best, superb actually.

Food: Solid, not super traditional, worth a try.
Value: Portions were small for price. you could definitely hit the hood and get more bang for your buck but if you're in West Hollywood it's all good.
Look: Chill, good atmosphere and they played the right music while we were there.
Come Back: More of a I'm in the neighborhood type of spot, not dying to run back for Mexican there though. Good for business lunch.
