"The King of New York" is the latest installment in the NBA BIG campaign. The new spot was directed by and stars one of the most passionate New York Knicks fans, Spike Lee who reminisces with excitement about one of his favorite Knicks moment from Madison Square Garden. The game that he so vividly recounts was a 1984 Knicks vs. the Nets match up where Bernard King walked away having scored 60 points. The Knicks/Nets rivalry has only intensified this season with both teams angling for the top spot in the East and, as a result, Lee points out - "you never know who's gonna wear the crown next" then fades to black ending with a statement "Royalty Is...BIG."
This "King of New York" spot is one of two spots that Lee directed for the NBA and will begin airing during the NBA's five-game schedule on Christmas Day.
